Dear Parents,
March is here and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of spring. We’re happy that this winter hasn’t been too bad and we’ve been able to use our playground.
March will be a busy month as we have lots of things going on. Our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will be taking place on Thursday the 16th and Friday the 17th with soda bread, St. Patrick’s Day books, and arts & crafts. We’ll also be celebrating Easter on Wednesday, March 29th and Thursday the 30th with arts & crafts and books.
SOME OTHER UPCOMING EVENTS IN MARCH:
Picture Days with Irvin Simon Photographers are upon us on Monday 3/13th and (am & pm) Tuesday 3/14th (am only). The children will each have an individual picture taken as well as a class picture and we will also have them take sibling pictures. Irvin Simon will contact you via email with information about ordering pictures. (4’s and the Full Day class upstairs will have their pictures taken on Monday, 3/13). Please let me know if you have any questions at all.
Our annual Children’s Art Show is scheduled for Friday, March 24th at 7:00pm. It will take place in our upstairs classroom (entrance located on Alida St.). This is an event for parents (if you’re unable to find a babysitter, you’re still welcome to stop by with your children). To get into the spirit of our upcoming fundraiser, we will be raffling a prize at the Art Show and Fundraiser tickets will be available. We always look forward to the Art Show. It’s fun to come together and view all the beautiful masterpieces made by the children. And the 4’s amazing robots (I love reading the descriptions that the children write for each of their robots…they’re so cute) will be on display in the church. Come tour our gallery and enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres. We’re catering the event with Jackie B’s restaurant on Garth Rd. so I will be posting sign-up forms at each of the drop-off doors so that we know how many people to plan for. Hope you can make it!
UPCOMING EVENTS IN APRIL
We will be celebrating Passover on April 11th & 12th with matzoh and charoset (without the nuts). We will also read special books about Passover.
Parent/Teacher spring conferences will be taking place in April with the following schedule: 4’s on 4/13 & 4/14, 3’s on 4/18 & 4/19 and 2’s on 4/25 & 4/26. Teachers will post sign-up forms as it gets closer.
Our Fundraising Committee has been working so hard on putting together this wonderful event. We’re so happy to announce that it’s going to be a Casino Night and they’ll also be a DJ. The date is Friday, April 28th and it’s right at Lake Isle…so nice and convenient. And the committee has kept the price very reasonable. Please come out and support our school. More information to come.
We will be celebrating Earth Day on 4/20 & 4/21 with some planting.
Summer camp will run for 10 weeks this summer from June 12th through August 18th . We offer half (9:00-12:00pm) or full (9:00-3:00pm; there is an option till 4:00pm for the 1st 2 weeks) as well as early drop-off beginning at 8:00am. The teachers who work here during the school year also work during camp. If you sign up for 5+ weeks, the weekly rate is discounted (the weeks don’t have to be consecutive). If you need a camp form, just let me know.
**Important Reminder: school is in session for the children on Friday, March 31st. It is listed as a Staff Development Day on our calendar however because school was closed for several days in September, school would be in session on 3/31.
*Spring Break: April 3rd -10th .
