Dear Parents,

December is here! We hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. The children had their Friendship Feasts with each class making something special for everyone to share. We were happy to celebrate the holiday and to talk about all we’re thankful for. And now that the holidays are upon us, it’s a fun and busy time but can be stressful, even for children. So the teachers really try to stick to their routines here at school to help make this busy time as calm as possible.

We will be celebrating Hanukkah with latkes and applesauce as well as books and art projects on Thursday, Dec. 15th and Friday, Dec. 16th.

Our multicultural holiday concerts will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 21st at 9:30am for the children in the AM classes and at 1:00pm for children in the PM 3’s & 4’s programs (children in the Full Day program will take part in our afternoon concert) and Thursday, Dec. 22nd at 9:30am. The concerts will take place in the church and following the concerts, the families are invited downstairs to the classrooms for holiday parties. The children in the AM 4’s will sing on both days, however their holiday party for the families in the classroom will take place on Thursday.

Our enrichment programs for 3’s and 4’s in yoga, art, soccer, gymnastics and literacy will be ending soon for the fall session. I will email out the registration forms for the winter session for all the programs on Thursday, 12/8 (and I will also place the forms in the backpacks). The enrichment programs will follow the same schedule and will begin the week of January 9th for the winter session.

*** REMINDER: CREATIVE PLAYTIME FOLLOWS THE EASTCHESTER SCHOOL DISTRICT WITH REGARD TO CLOSING FOR BAD WEATHER. IF EASTCHESTER IS CLOSED, WE ARE TOO. IF EASTCHESTER HAS A DELAYED OPENING, CREATIVE PLAYTIME OPENS AT 10:00AM.
