Dear Parents,
What a fun Halloween! The parades were wonderful and the children looked great in their costumes. It was a fun day. October was a busy month. We celebrated Diwali in each classroom with a special book written by local Scarsdale resident Dr. Priscilla Parameswaran, “Trinity and Friends Enjoy Diwali”. We also had a special snack. Ariv’s parents came and read a special Diwali book to the 3’s class and some other parents sent in books to read. Thank you. The children loved it. Hard to believe it’s November already.
I wanted to thank everyone for coming out for our picnic. We’re so lucky to get great weather and it’s always so much fun. Thank you also for supporting our book fair.
Some Upcoming Events in November:
Parent/Teacher conferences will be starting soon. The 2’s take place on 11/3 & 11/18. The 3’s are on 11/9 & 11/10 and the 4’s will be on 11/15 & 11/16. Conferences can take place in person or by phone (sign-up forms will be available at drop-off doors and you can also email me to set up a time). If any of those dates do not work for you, just let the teachers know and they will set up a different time for you.
Registration for the 2023-2024 School Year for Current Families: Registration for current families will begin on Nov. 21st. We’re asking that everyone have their registration forms in by Monday, Nov. 28th in order for us to determine if a lottery will be necessary for any of the programs. Registration will not be open to new families until Monday, Dec. 5th. Registration forms and tuition information will be emailed out soon.
Our Friendship Feasts will be taking place on Monday & Tuesday, November 21st and 22nd. These will be just for the children (parents are invited in December to attend our Holiday Concerts and classroom parties). Each class prepares something for the feast and we all eat together; 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s as we celebrate Thanksgiving and all that we’re thankful for. We always enjoy this special day.
Winter will soon be upon us so I wanted to send out a reminder regarding school closures. Here at Creative Playtime we follow the Eastchester School District. If Eastchester schools are closed, then we are closed. If Eastchester schools have a delayed opening, then we will open at 10:00am. You will receive an email from me in the early morning (or night before if there is advanced notice…I am on their automated call list) with information about any closures/delayed openings.
If, while at school, Eastchester schools close early due to the weather becoming unsafe outside, we will notify you by phone of any early closures.
Information and registration forms will be going out in early December for all of our Enrichment Programs; Yoga, Art, Soccer, Gymnastics, and Literacy (literacy for the 4’s) for the winter session. The enrichment programs will be following the same schedule with yoga on Mondays, art on Tuesdays, soccer on Wednesdays (3’s) and Thursdays (4’s), gymnastics on Fridays, and literacy on Wednesdays (all from 11:30-12:30pm). All winter session enrichment programs for the 3’s and 4’s will begin in January, after the holiday break.
Creative Playtime is closed on Friday 11/11 for Veteran’s Day and 11/23, 11/24, and 11/25 for Thanksgiving.
Some Upcoming Events:
We will be celebrating Hanukkah in December; 12/15 & 12/6 with books, art projects & latkes/applesauce.
Our Holiday Concerts will take place on Wednesday, 12/21 (AM & PM) and on Thursday, 12/22 (AM only) followed by holiday classroom parties for all our families.
We begin our holiday recess on Friday, 12/23.
