Dear Parents,
What a fun Halloween! The parades were wonderful and the children looked great in their costumes. It was a fun day. October was a busy month. We celebrated Hangul Day (Alphabet Day) with a special snack and book and our annual Book Fair took place 10/10-10/14 (thank you to all who purchased books). Unfortunately, we were unable to hold our Fall Family Picnic but it will definitely be back next year.
Some Upcoming Events in November:
Parent/Teacher conferences will be starting soon. The 2’s take place on 11/2 & 11/3. The 3’s are on 11/13 & 11/14 and the 4’s will be on 11/15 & 11/16. Conferences can take place in person or by phone (sign-up forms will be available at drop-off doors and you can also email me to set up a time). If any of those dates do not work for you, just let the teachers know and they will set up a different time for you.
Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year for Current Families:
Registration for current families will begin on Nov. 20th. We’re asking that everyone have their registration forms in by Tuesday, Nov. 28th in order for us to determine if a lottery will be necessary for any of the programs. Registration will not be open to new families until Monday, Dec. 4th.
Registration forms and tuition information will be emailed out soon.
Our Friendship Feasts will be taking place on Monday & Tuesday, November 20th & 21st, These will be just for the children (parents are invited in December to attend our Holiday Concerts and classroom parties). Each class prepares something for the feast and we all eat together; 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s as we celebrate Thanksgiving and all that we’re thankful for. We always enjoy this special day.
Winter will soon be upon us so I wanted to send out a reminder regarding school closures. Here at Creative Playtime, we follow the Eastchester School District. If Eastchester schools are closed, then we are closed. If Eastchester schools have a delayed opening, then we will open at 10:00am. You will receive an email from me in the early morning (or night before if there is advanced notice…I am on their automated call list) with information about any closures/delayed openings.
If, while at school, Eastchester schools close early due to the weather becoming unsafe outside, we will notify you by phone of any early closures.
**As it is now getting colder, the teachers ask that you please send in hats/mittens for when the children go outside to play on our new playground. Thank you.
Information and registration forms will be going out in early December for all of our Enrichment Programs; Yoga, Soccer, Gymnastics, and Literacy (literacy for the 4’s) for the winter session. The enrichment programs will be following the same schedule with 4’s soccer on Mondays, 3’s soccer on Wednesdays, yoga on Thursdays, gymnastics on Fridays, and literacy on Wednesdays (all from 11:30-12:30pm). All winter session enrichment programs for the 3’s and 4’s will begin in January, after the holiday break.
Creative Playtime is closed on Tuesday, Nov 7th for a Staff Development Day, on Friday 11/10 for Veteran’s Day and 11/22, 11/23, and 11/24, for Thanksgiving.

We will be celebrating Diwali on 11/13 & 11/14 with special snacks and the book “Trinity and Friends Enjoy Diwali” by Dr. Priscilla Parameswaran.
We will be celebrating Hanukkah on 12/7 & 12/8 with books, art projects & latkes/applesauce.
We will be celebrating Kwanzaa on 12/11 & 12/12 with books, art projects and snacks.
Our Christmas celebrations will take place on 12/18 & 12/19 with books, art projects and snacks.
Our Holiday Concerts will take place on Thursday, 12/21 (AM & PM) followed by holiday classroom parties for all our families. (children who don’t typically attend school on Thursdays are invited to participate in the concerts and parties). More information as it gets closer.
We begin our holiday recess on Friday, 12/22.
