November Newsletter
Dear Parents,
What a fun Halloween! The parades were wonderful and the children looked great in their costumes. It was a fun day. Hard to believe it’s November already.
We have a lot going on this month. Parent/Teacher conferences are taking place and we recently celebrated Diwali in each classroom with a special book written by a local Scarsdale resident Dr. Priscilla Parameswaran “Trinity and Friends Enjoy Diwali.”
Registration for the 2022-2023 School Year for Current Families: Registration for current families is currently underway. We’re asking that everyone have their registration forms in by Friday, 11/12 in order for us to determine if a lottery will be necessary for any of the programs. Registration will not be open to new families until Monday, 11/29. If you need a registration form, please let me know.
Our Friendship Feasts will be taking place on Monday & Tuesday, November 22nd and 23rd. These will be just for the children (parents are invited in December to attend our Holiday Concerts and classroom parties). Each class prepares something for the feast and we all eat together; 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s as we celebrate Thanksgiving and all that we’re thankful for. We always enjoy this special day.
Winter will soon be upon us so I wanted to send out a reminder regarding school closures. Here at Creative Playtime we follow the Eastchester School District. If Eastchester schools are closed, then we are closed. If Eastchester schools have a delayed opening, then we will open at 10:00am. You will receive an email from me in the early morning (or night before if there is advanced notice…I am on their automated call list) with information about any closures/delayed openings. If, while at school, Eastchester schools close early due to the weather becoming unsafe outside, we will notify you by phone of any early closures.
Information and registration forms will be going out in early December for all of our Enrichment Programs; Yoga, Art, Soccer, Golf, and Literacy (literacy for the 4’s) for the winter session. The enrichment programs will be following the same schedule with yoga on Mondays, art on Tuesdays, soccer on Wednesdays (3’s) and Thursdays (4’s), golf on Fridays, and literacy on Wednesdays. All winter session enrichment programs for the 3’s and 4’s will begin in January, after the holiday break.
Creative Playtime is closed on Thursday 11/11 for Veteran’s Day and 11/24, 11/25, and 11/26 for Thanksgiving.
Some Upcoming Events:
We will be celebrating Hanukkah in early December; 12/1 & 12/2 with books, art projects & latkes.
We will be learning about Kwanza in the middle of December.
Our Holiday Concerts will take place on Tuesday, 12/21 (AM only) and on Wednesday, 12/22 (AM & PM) followed by holiday classroom parties.
We begin our holiday recess on Thursday, 12/23.
