Dear Parents,
March is here and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of spring. We’re happy that this winter hasn’t been too bad and we’ve been able to use our playground. March will be a busy month as we have lots of things going on. Our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will be taking place on Monday, 3/17 and Tuesday, 3/18 with soda bread, St. Patrick’s Day books, and arts & crafts and Eid on 3/27 & 3/28 with special books and snacks.
SOME OTHER UPCOMING EVENTS:
Picture Days with Irvin Simon Photographers are upon us on Monday 3/10 (AM & PM) and Tuesday 3/11 (AM).
Creative Playtime Open House for New Families: we will be holding an Open House for potential new families on Saturday, March 29th from 9:00-11:30am. If you know of anyone who may be looking for a preschool and would like to come for a visit, please let them know (children are welcome to come too).
We will be celebrating Passover with a special snack and books on 4/7 & 4/8.
We will be celebrating Easter on 4/9 & 4/10 with books, crafts and snacks.
Our annual Children’s Art Show is scheduled for Friday, April 3 rd at 7:00pm. It will take place in our upstairs classroom. This is an event for parents (if you’re unable to find a babysitter, you’re still welcome to stop by with your children). To get into the spirit of our upcoming fundraiser, we will be raffling a prize at the Art Show and Fundraiser tickets will be available. We always look forward to the Art Show. It’s fun to come together and view all the beautiful masterpieces made by the children. And the 4’s amazing robots (I love reading the descriptions that the children write for each of their robots…they’re so cute) will be on display in the church. Come tour our gallery and enjoy wine and food. Hope you can make it!
FUNDRAISER
Our Fundraising Committee has begun the planning of our 2025 annual fundraiser. This year it will be taking place really close by at Jackie’s B’s restaurant located on Garth Rd. on Friday, May 9th at 7:00pm. We will have an assorted appetizer buffet as well as unlimited wine, beer, and soft drinks (mixed drinks available for purchase at the bar) and there will also be live musical entertainment performing that evening (ticket prices are $65/pp or $120/couple; significantly less than last year). We’ve already obtained some great prizes and we’re looking forward to a wonderful night. As I had mentioned in an earlier email, we ask each family to obtain 1 donation. It can be from a business of your choice and we will also be contacting everyone with the name of a place that donated to us last year in case you need a suggestion of where to go. Tim the Trivia Guy will be returning for our fundraiser this year complete with prizes which will be a lot of fun. And, of course, our wonderful MC Lou Osso and his wife Janine will be there (the proud parents of 3 grown CP graduates) which always makes it extra special. Please come out and support our school. We’ll be sending the flyer out soon containing the form to purchase tickets. More details as it gets closer. Hope you can make it.
Summer Camp
Summer camp registration is still taking place. It will run for 10 weeks this summer from June 9 th through Aug. 15 th . We offer half (9:00-12:00pm) or full (9:00-3:00pm; there is an option till 4:00pm for the 1 st 2 weeks) as well as early drop-off beginning at 8:00am. The teachers who work here during the school year also work during camp. If you sign up for 5+ weeks, the weekly rate is discounted (the weeks don’t have to be consecutive). If you need a camp form, just let me know.
Reminder: Staff Development Day on Monday, 3/31: no school for children
